Thank you for trying the Free Software Club of Kirksville FreeCD.
Free Software is a concept that many people are unfamiliar
with. Many people don't know that the free
part of Free Software is
about freedom and not price (although this CD is free in both senses). You are
free to use this software any way you like. You are free to
make copies of this disk for yourself and to share with others. In fact, we
encourage it, and so do the authors. Free Software, at its best, is about
building an active community for creating and sharing really good software.
This disk contains software packages that have been licensed as Free
Software.
You may find it informative to read the licenses of the included
programs, in particular the GNU General Public
License.
There is more free software than can ever fit on one compact disk. We have included some of our favorite programs, and included a list of others that you might consider downloading if you have a fast Internet connection.
If you find that Free Software is a passion for you, the Free Software Club members would like to suggest that you try something truly free---install the Linux operating system. We hold regular events to help out beginners. Even if you aren't ready to scrap your copy of Windows and take the Linux plunge, you are free (and welcome) to join the group.
Perhaps you would just like to be on our discussion list. If so, send
